Welcome to The Model Home!

I’m Carleen Laronn, part fashion model, part designer, 100% Denver native and proud. I like vodka sodas and getting caught in the snow (even though there isn't any this year, I'm super sad about the skiing conditions). While I graduated from Leeds School of Business at CU Boulder, my heart and soul have always craved all things creative.  That’s exactly why from the moment I graduated I didn’t waste a breath before hopping on a plane to pursue my passion for Modeling.

At this point you could see me leaping across the pages of Italian Vogue (literally! I did a shoot on a trampoline once) or strutting down catwalks during Miami Swim Week. While modeling was undoubtedly a dynamic and constantly evolving creative outlet, there was a yearning inside of me for something more.

The years I spent traveling – immersing myself in the architecture and history of the many places I had visited – stirred a new passion in me. There was something magical about the feeling I had in these beautiful environments and the thought of being the person who created those environments tickled my soul. Perhaps that is why the decision to start dressing homes, rather than myself, seemed like a pretty darn good idea!

At this point, I decided to move back home to Denver and jump headfirst into a new career as a designer for Denver’s premiere home staging company. After 3 years of crafting unique design plans for hundreds of properties, it is safe to say I had found my calling. But what else I had found was an observation... An observation that people, more often than not Men, place a value far too low on the aesthetics of their home. It’s easy to get caught up in your daily routines, not realizing the spaces around you are hindering your life in one way or another. Whether it’s a dark living room with no light for reading, or a cluttered bedroom that makes getting out the door seem more like an obstacle course, the truth is you deserve more! You just don’t always realize it. Your bachelor pad or man cave should be an oasis: a reflection of yourself, your desires. It should inspire you, comfort you, and most importantly: it should give you that warm fuzzy feeling you were unaware you wanted until now.  That’s where I come in!

Let me further paint the picture: Most women have been there, sitting on the sectional at their boyfriend or friend’s house before heading out to the bars. A tapestry hangs on the wall to the right and the coffee table in front of them is scattered with chip crumbs and a visible film of what they can only hope is beer. They keep sipping their beverage when it hits them, “OH SHIT! What if I have to pee?!”

They are consumed by fear. Fear that is made up of the facial hairs sprayed over the bathroom sink and the toilet that hasn’t been cleaned since the day their man friend had moved in.  This is not supposed to be you gentlemen – you are destined for more!  So, so much more.

For each college poster tacked to your wall there is a piece of framed art calling your name. For every off colored towel hanging in your bathroom a fluffy set of neutral towels begs to be wrapped around your body. And your sofa, it wants a pillow or two and so may you once you find the right ones.  Not only am I here to help you find those pillows but I am also here to share all sorts of pointers and tips, advice and inspiration that will help you transform your home into the space you deserve!

Each man is different and The Model Home is here to assist each and every one of you in finding your personal style and using it to elevate the spaces you live in. Together, let’s make your home a place that not only welcomes you – but also welcomes your guests too (I’m looking at you, ladies).
